How to Edit Music Tags in Music Library

To ensure you keep all your notable songs in right metadata, you must wonder how to effortlessly edit music tags. Read the guide below, you’d find editing metadata of any track no big deal as long as you take full advantage of Keepvid Music Tag Editor.

Part 1. Auto Fix Local Music Tags

Step 1: Add Music from Computer

Launch Keepvid Music Tag Editor, and you’ll have 2 options to import local music to the program.

  • Click add music icon icon from the sidebar and choose Add Files or Add Folder to select your target music from local PC.
  • Click Import Local Files Library in the primary interface.

Step 2: Identify ID3 Music Tag

Then the program will scan just loaded music right away and show the result of how many songs need fixing, just as the screenshot shows.

Click Auto Fix, it will automatically identify ID3 tag by matching Gracenote database and return the results within seconds, including the number for auto fixing and manual editing.

Step 3: Fix Local Music Tag Automatically

Click Apply All and the identified ID3 tag would be applied to the music automatically.

Part 2. Manual Edit Local Music Tags

Sometimes Keepvid Music Tag Editor may fail to identify MP3 tag, and in that case, you have to learn how to edit music metadata yourself.

Step 1: Choose Music for Editing

Select the local playlist from the sidebar, choose the music that needs editing in the middle and you can see the editing area in the right.

Step 2: Edit ID3 Music Tag Manually

Click edit-id3-icon would enable you edit Title, Artist, Album, Track No., Genre, Year as you need.

If you want to add or change album artwork for the music, just hit add-album-artwork-icon to upload your desired image from your local computer.

Step 3: Save Edit Music Tag

Once you finish editing ID3 music tags, just click Save to confirm adding the metadata to the music and you’ll see Saved successfully! in no time.

Note: If you want to re-edit music tags, you can click Restore to undo above editing.
